Team LFW Daily has a key member this week, in the form of Gregory, our Mercedes driver. George Ryan caught up with him during a traffic jam to find out just what makes him tick:
What car are you driving and what is her name?
Mercedes Benz GL450. I have christened her Beast If you owned a major fashion store, where would it be and what would it be called? It would be called STREET on New Bond Street.
What’s the best way to avoid paparazzi?
Duck and drive.
SITUATION: You have fashion royalty in the car, let’s say Anna Wintour. How do you change your driving style and conversation topics?
Don’t ever change the driving style, just drive and listen, listen, listen….
SITUATION: the catwalk show is running late and you are parked on a double yellow. How do you ward off the warden?
I never park on double yellows. I don’t deal with wardens, I’m too quick for them.
As a result of London Fashion Week, how many parking fines have you had to pay?
None, I’m too good (the BEAST rocks).
What is your favourite driving soundtrack?
It depends on my mood. Either Andrea Bocelli’s Time to say goodbye or Bad Romance by Lady Gaga.
What is your London Fashion Week uniform?
Italian suit from M&S, Prada shoes.
If you could change anything about London’s roads what would it be?
Everything.
Who is your style icon?
Depends on my mood, either Dean Martin or Lady Gaga.
Who is your favourite racing car driver?
Michael Schumacher
Any autumn/winter ‘10 shortcuts when driving to shows?
Only one and it involves a sneaky back route over Waterloo bridge to avoid the clogged up Strand.
You are an important member of The LFW Daily team. How do you handle the pressure?
Organisation, preparation + dreaming of my Prada suit.
What are your hobbies?
Driving cars (FAST).
What is the criteria for being an ultimate Mercedes driver such as yourself?
Practice , practice, practice…

Report by Katie GreengassGrans and grandads, lock up your husky jackets, outerwear is having a moment. Our old friend the coat does, of course, make up the flavour of winter but this season London designers have played the cover up centre stage.
“Designers are especially concerned with jackets and coats this season,” Harrods’ Fashion and Beauty Director Marigay Mckee told The LFW Daily. “Bombers are the particular favourite along with the military style jackets,” she said.
Burberry based an entire collection around aviator jackets while Charles Anastase layered knitwear on top of overcoats. Daks took the husky and gave it an up to date, eccentric spin via leggings, capes and bonnets from the traditional fabric. Design duo Basso & Brooke weaved Trompe-l’œil goretex anoraks into their ensemble and at Aquascutum Michael Herz transformed tailored jackets into full-length dresses. Meanwhile, at Mens day today [Wed], E Tautz featured the ultimate in deluxe outerwear courtesy a cashmere fit for a prince. Luckily one [HRH Prince Michael] was sitting front row and was seemingly rather taken by it.
