To celebrate its third season as the official car partner to LFW, Mercedes-Benz has embraced one of Britain’s best loved activities, namely the trusty car boot, and given it a very chic spin by creating an online charity fashion auction, complete with an array of bespoke designer in-car accessories.
Today, on site at LFW, Henry Holland, Katie Hillier, E Tautz’s Patrick Grant and knitwear whizz kids Sibling piled into a snazzy Merc with their own creations to launch the concept.
As well as the bespoke car accessories, over 30 of the world’s greatest designers have donated over 85 gorgeous lots, giving the auction plenty of fashionable fodder for the likes of us to bid for on its online site www.mercedes-benz.co.uk/fashion.
Proceeds from the auction will go to Fashion East, the platform for new talent, which celebrates its tenth anniversary this year. The likes of Richard Nicoll, Holly Fulton and Marios Schwab are just some of the names to have launched through Fashion East. The proceeds will also go to Laureus Sport for Good Foundation, the charity which uses sport as the means to promote social change.
Auction lots we are salivating over include a giant shiny, red apple from Mulberry’s winter window display, an iconic print sausage dog from Erdem, a feathery fascinator from Philip Treacy and most of all, the limited edition car accessories.
Stay tuned throughout the week for insider info on the extremely fashionable in-car fashionalia available EXCLUSIVELY at the MERCEDES-BENZ CAR BOOT-IQUE. Chic, non? JD
