Hair whizz Luke Hersheson shares his secrets behind the looks created at Louise Gray, Emilio de la Morena and Osman.
My inspiration for all three shows is all about being tough. I wanted to make the girls look masculine and boyish in three very different ways. The Mohawks in Louise Gray’s show were inspired by the way I wrap presents. We went to the flower market and bought loads of raffia to get the look just right. I also used knots for that added hard edge. In Emilio’s show I was inspired by Bruce Weber’s photography of beautiful men. For this look, the hair was slick, with comb marks running through and low, side partings. And for Osman, sweeping fringes and side partings.
Want to create these looks yourself? Then hairspray, a wide tooth comb and lots of oil are key ingredients. Dry shampoo will get the oil out…eventually.
