Have you heard? Fashion’s important. We launched our Value of the UK Fashion Industry report and we’re up there with the big boys: £21bn, 816,000, 15th (out of 81). And last week we launched the BFC Bazaar Fashion Arts Foundation, so now we have a formal platform to work closely with music, film, art, design. That’s what makes London unique. Fashion is 15th, but creative industries together would be, well actually looking at the numbers, no 1. So, will the Pope be visiting? It’s a thought, but would he be seated in the front row? Highlights so far? Orla Kiely “London” film (Boris would be proud – by the way, anyone want to race me on a Boris Bike?!) The Costelloe family taking to the catwalk. NewGen sheds in the morning sunshine – get down there! And finally: lights down for the start of the PC’s show yesterday morning … hush descends … expectancy … voice backstage (unaware) “shut up everyone, we’re about to start – CONCENTRATE”! … much frontstage laughter. Welcome to LFW.
