Nail whiz Sophy Robson shares her Topshop mani design secrets…
I absolutely love working on the Topshop show, as I totally love their clothes (who doesn’t?), and all the people who work for the brand. (ummm hello… Katie Grand styling, Hannah Murray on make up and hair genius Paul Hanlon working their magic!) It was the first show for me and my team this season, and how amazing a start can you get?
The Topshop girl this season was a bit disco 70′s Donna Summer/Sonia Rykiel/Roxy Music with a London twist.
All the models were perfectly bronzed by mega-tanner James Read, and then had the most gorgeous, perfect red glossy lip applied to go with their big candyfloss flowing Afro hair.
Of course, no London chick would be complete without her nails did, and I was asked to create a special embellished manicure which used jewels (Swarovski crystals in different sizes, actually) in different colours to bring out some of the key colours of the collection, such as amethyst and amber.
I think this was the biggest line up of models I have ever worked with on a London show, with some of the hottest models around, like Dree Hemingway, Jourdan Dunn, Hannah Holman, Barbara Palvin and Amber Le Bon walking the runway.
