Director of make-up artistry for M.A.C Cosmetics Terry Barber, reports from backstage at Jean-Pierre Braganza
“It’s a very fierce, sculpted, almost full on couture beauty-inspired Thierry Mugler. The girl’s hair has been scraped into a really tight pony with very high-elongated brows. The eyes, temples and cheekbones have been sculpted in M.A.C colour corrector concealer in burgundy with pressed M.A.C Pro Pigment in Electric Coral, layered on top.
I’ve used Superslick Black liquid liner in a quite feline shape and I have cut the 36 lashes in half and have done quite an angled lash.
I’ve gone for a full precise red lip using M.A.C Lip pencils in Cherry and Vino, and a new M.A.C lipstick called Runaway Red AW11. Clear lipglass on top, for a very PVC effect.
The colour scheme was inspired by the lacquered effect on electric guitars, as I loved the attitude of the Thierry Mugler shows in the 80′s and 90′s.
I just think there is a return to proper beauty this season, but with a very modern twist on colour.”
