The secret diary of the BFC’s Caroline Rush
The first day of LFW was energy charged with anticipation of the week to come. The feeling at the shows was palpable and thus, despite a day of shows, meetings, interviews, exhibition tours with media, visitors, Samantha Cameron and Ed Vaizey MP….and a trip to No 10, I was full of energy on Friday night and didn’t really want the day to end.
Last night I was slightly more tired after an equally charged day two, starting with Daks, then Betty, Jaeger, Louise Gray,Issa, Jonathan Saunders, CSM… Exhibition tours and international guest drinks party. Sat in cab, heading home I kept reflecting on the talent seen that day and the impressive front rows of media and retailers who will make Jonathan’s most mesmerising collection translate to sales and editorial, Louise Gray’s print, colour and playfulness develop her business and Jaeger’s colour, knit and coats see me planning my wardrobe for AW11. Role today, Margaret Howell first thing and I can’t wait! In fact focusing on today’s schedule the tiredness is replaced again with anticipation – and probably another night with little sleep ahead!
