Grab yourself a pair of Osman trousers, because the man cuts them like a dream. Extra wide and fluid in soft grey wool, fresh in peppermint blue cotton, sparky in razor-sharp vivid red wool, or hazily luxurious in a green/black dévoré. Every pair was a winner. Osman is at an interesting time for his business. Strong, well-heeled, well-educated women love his almost monastic elegance (although winter’s jazzy palette will put an extra-wide smile on their faces). Samantha Cameron looked regal in her black floor-length Osman at the British Fashion Awards, and Queen Rania of Jordan is a big fan. At his best, Osman creates deceptively simple shapes with intriguing flourishes that you won’t find anywhere else. I could see Michelle Obama flexing those biceps in his strapless, lime green leather-topped cream wool maxi dress. Other highlights? The cap-sleeved grey felt tunic that rose at the front to swoop in two tails at the back, the fabulous dress in soft navy and dusky pink stripes, the elegant tobacco trench. Loved it.
