I love to champion British designers, but it’s also interesting to see brands from outside the UK who have a presence at London Fashion Week. Lublu is Kira Plastinina’s high-end line. Yup, the same Russian teen who got wildly successful a little too fast. Now she’s back with a range that has longevity, and I love this grey, wool-fronted silk-chiffon top that is cut longer in the back.
I also love Akong’s new jewellery collection for its juxtaposition of chains and pompom trims, with pops of primary colours. Bag designer Thomas Blakk makes a very black debut, and a powerful one at that, with styles such as
this one entitled “Boombox”. Tracey Neuls’s TN_29 range fuses comfort and style and is supremely well made. The store in Marylebone will soon become a restaurant, too – any combination of food with fashion is always welcome in my book.
