The BFC Rock Vault has returned, continuing to showcase London’s burgeoning fine-jewellery talent. But are they jewellers or designers?
“I’m both,” says Melanie Georgacopoulos. “London is the only city that allows young designers to merge fashion and fine jewellery.”
The initiative, sponsored by the International Palladium Board, hosts a diverse range of designers, including Fernando Jorge, Imogen Belfield and Husam El Odeh.
“No one can compete with Paris, but this is where trends start,” says Carol Woolton, Vogue Jewellery Editor.
“It doesn’t have to be for a specific age or about affluence here,” says Katie Hillier (whose collection is pictured right). “I’d rather somebody saved to buy something they love.”
